The Sisters of the Little Flower of Jesus are a women’s religious institute of the Archdiocese of Gwangju based at 1371-36 Noansamdo-ro, Samgeo-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju. Both the Catholic Church Directory in Korea and the congregation’s official website state that the institute was formally approved by the Archdiocese of Gwangju on January 18, 1999.
The congregation’s official account identifies Leo Kim Jun-ho and Fr. Pio Jo Cheol-hyeon as co-founders and describes its charism through St. Thérèse’s love, St. Francis’s poverty and littleness, and service to the poorest and those in need.
This place is therefore not an ordinary parish church, but the central community of a religious institute that arose within Gwangju, making the congregation’s own history and spirituality the defining character of the site.
