About this place
Wondong Catholic Church is a parish church of the Archdiocese of Gwangju in Songjeong-dong, Gwangsan-gu, within the Gwangju Gwangsan 2 district. The archdiocese records the parish as established on June 18, 1949, with St. Joseph as its patron.
One of the older parishes in the Gwangsan area, it later provided part of the foundation for the growth of neighboring parish communities, including Wolgok-dong and Usan-dong. Its current address at 14 Gwangsan-ro 68beon-gil matches the package information.
Wondong Catholic Church is therefore a local parish under the patronage of St. Joseph, with its long pastoral history since 1949 and its role in the development of nearby parishes forming an important part of its identity.
