Ttangkkeut Mission Station is a Catholic mission community in Songji-myeon, Haenam County, within the southwestern area of the Archdiocese of Gwangju, and belongs to Haenam Parish. The archdiocese records its establishment on June 1, 1993, and identifies Songji-myeon and part of Hyeonsan-myeon as its pastoral area.
The mission station suffered severe damage to its former building during a typhoon in 2012. According to a Catholic Times report, local Catholics raised funds together with support from Haenam Parish and donations from other places, and a new mission building was blessed in 2015. The episode shows how a small Catholic community rebuilt its place of worship after a major setback.
Today Ttangkkeut is not an independent parish church but a local faith community belonging to Haenam Parish. It has also served as a place of prayer and Mass for Catholics visiting the Ttangkkeut area, preserving both the continuity of the community since the 1990s and the memory of its rebuilding in the 2010s.
