About this place
Seomyeon Catholic Church is a parish church of the Archdiocese of Gwangju in Seomyeon, Suncheon, within the Suncheon district. The archdiocese records the parish as established on September 3, 2015, with St. Isidore as its patron.
As a comparatively young parish founded in the 2010s, it serves Catholics in Seomyeon through Mass, the sacraments, catechesis, and parish community activities within an independent pastoral unit. Its defining character is that of an ordinary local parish rather than a special pilgrimage site or religious house.
The church is therefore best understood as a modern parish of the Suncheon area under the patronage of St. Isidore. The liturgical and pastoral life sustained by the community since 2015 is central to the meaning of the place.
