About this place
Sachang Catholic Church is a parish church of the Archdiocese of Gwangju in Samgye-myeon, Jangseong County, within the Gwangju Gwangsan 1 district. The archdiocese records the parish as established on August 27, 2007, with St. Martin as its patron.
A comparatively young parish founded in the 2000s, it provides an independent pastoral center where Catholics in Samgye-myeon and the surrounding area gather for Mass, the sacraments, catechesis, and parish community activities. While Jangseong has older traditions of Catholic villages, the present Sachang Parish is primarily a modern parish established in response to contemporary pastoral needs.
Sachang Catholic Church is therefore best understood through its local parish community under the patronage of St. Martin and the continuity of pastoral life since 2007. Changeable information such as Mass schedules and current personnel is intentionally omitted.
