About this place
Sachang Catholic Church is a parish church of the Archdiocese of Gwangju in Samgye-myeon, Jangseong County, within the Gwangju Gwangsan 1 district. The archdiocese records the parish as established on August 27, 2007, with St. Martin as its patron.
A comparatively young parish founded in the 2000s, it provides an independent pastoral center where Catholics in Samgye-myeon and the surrounding area gather for Mass, the sacraments, catechesis, and parish community activities. While Jangseong has older traditions of Catholic villages, the present Sachang Parish is primarily a modern parish established in response to contemporary pastoral needs.
