About this place
Okgwa Catholic Church is a parish church of the Archdiocese of Gwangju. The archdiocese records the parish as established on January 28, 2003, with St. Joseph as its patron.
The parish serves Catholics in Okgwa-myeon and surrounding areas of Gokseong County through Mass, the sacraments, catechesis, and community life. Its current address also matches the place information in the package.
The church is therefore best understood as a local parish under the patronage of St. Joseph, with the continuity of its liturgical and pastoral life forming the core identity of the place.
