The Catholic Church Directory in Korea records the Daughters of Mary Immaculate as founded on May 25, 1816 and as entering Korea on May 17, 1979. The Gwangju house is a local community of this Marianist women's institute, living its religious community life and prayer at the same location as the parish church.
This place is therefore not a separate parish church, but a Marianist sisters' house located at Chipyeong-dong Catholic Church. It is distinct from the congregation's Jangdeok-dong house, and its present location in Chipyeong-dong is central to identifying this target correctly.
