About this place
The Haenam community of the Sisters of the Annunciation of the Divine Word is a women's religious community in Songji-myeon, Haenam County. The Catholic Church Directory in Korea lists it in the Archdiocese of Gwangju as the "Gwangju branch: Haenam Star of the Sea contemplative community" and confirms the same address as the package.
The national directory gives March 25, 1960 as the establishment date of the congregation. The Haenam branch is explicitly identified as a contemplative community, making its character clearly different from that of an ordinary parish: it is centered on the prayer and common life of religious sisters.
The place is therefore best understood not as a parish church or general public facility, but as the Haenam contemplative community of the congregation. Changeable personnel details are omitted, with the introduction focusing on the officially documented identity of the community.
