Bongseon 2-dong Catholic Church is a parish church of the Archdiocese of Gwangju in Nam-gu, Gwangju, within the Gwangju South district. The archdiocese records January 25, 2008 as the parish establishment date and names St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus as its patron.

The parish began under the name Bongseon-Jobong Parish and was initially served jointly with Bongseon-dong Parish. It became independent in 2011 and adopted its present name. While worshipping in temporary facilities, parishioners prepared to build a permanent church; construction began in 2014 and the present church was dedicated in January 2015. The project is also notable because the parish community itself secured the site and worked to finance the building.

Although relatively young, Bongseon 2-dong Catholic Church reflects a community that established its own identity through foundation, independence, and the building of a new church. It remains a center for Mass, the sacraments, catechesis, and parish community life.
