About this place
Jungsan Mission Station is a Catholic mission community at 1436 Seobu-ro, Yulchon-myeon, Yeosu, belonging to Yulchon Parish in the Archdiocese of Gwangju. The archdiocese records it as established on January 1, 1940 and serving Gajang-ri and Sangnae-ri in Yulchon-myeon as well as Hasa-ri in Haeryong-myeon, Suncheon.
Since 1940, the mission station has served as a long-standing local point where Catholics near the Yeosu-Suncheon boundary remain connected with Yulchon Parish. Although smaller than an independent parish, it has sustained prayer and community life for local believers over many decades.
Jungsan Mission Station is therefore best understood as a historic local faith community belonging to Yulchon Parish, with continuity since 1940 forming its central meaning.
