About this place
Jindo Catholic Church is a parish church of the Archdiocese of Gwangju at 5 Namdong 4-gil, Jindo-eup, Jindo County, within the Southwestern district. The archdiocese records the parish as established on November 7, 1954, with Mary, Queen of Heaven, as its patronal title.
Since the 1950s, the parish has served the Catholic community of Jindo-eup and surrounding areas through Mass, the sacraments, catechesis, and community life in an island setting.
Jindo Catholic Church is therefore a local parish under the patronage of the Queen of Heaven, with the continuity of parish worship and pastoral life since 1954 forming its central identity.
