About this place
Jangsan Mission Station is a Catholic mission community of the Archdiocese of Gwangju at 183 Jangsandongmyeon-gil, Jangsan-myeon, Sinan County. The Catholic Church Directory in Korea records it as established on November 7, 1993, and it remains listed among the archdiocese’s current mission stations.
Located on Jangsan Island, it is a local Catholic community smaller than an independent parish, providing a place for island Catholics to sustain prayer and communal faith life. This review did not find sufficiently authoritative current evidence to state its mother parish, so that relationship is not asserted here.
Jangsan Mission Station is therefore best understood as an island Catholic community that has continued in Jangsan-myeon since 1993.
