About this place
Imja Mission Station is a Catholic mission community at 139 Imja-ro, Imja-myeon, Sinan County, belonging to Mangun Parish in the Archdiocese of Gwangju. The archdiocese records the mission station as established on October 21, 1991 and serving the Imja-myeon area.
Located in an island community, Imja provides a local Catholic presence through which believers remain connected with Mangun Parish and sustain communal faith life. Though smaller than an independent parish, it has a significant role in maintaining Catholic life in a geographically separated island setting.
Imja Mission Station is therefore best understood as the local faith community of Imja-myeon belonging to Mangun Parish.
