About this place
Imgok-dong Catholic Church is a parish church of the Archdiocese of Gwangju in Imgok-dong, Gwangsan-gu, within the Gwangju Gwangsan 1 district. The Catholic Church Directory in Korea records the parish as established on September 19, 1993, with St. Charles Hyeon Seok-mun as its patron.
The church at 838 Gobong-ro serves local Catholics through Mass, the sacraments, catechesis, and community activities. Catholic social-welfare activity is also registered at the same address, reflecting the site’s broader pastoral role in the neighborhood.
Imgok-dong Catholic Church is therefore best understood as a local parish of Gwangsan-gu under the patronage of the Korean martyr St. Charles Hyeon Seok-mun.
