About this place
The Heuksan Catholic Church History and Exhibition Hall is an interpretive and exhibition space within the Heuksan Catholic Church complex at 180-20 Heuksanilju-ro, Heuksan-myeon, Sinan County. The Catholic Church Directory in Korea lists it separately among the Archdiocese of Gwangju’s heritage and historic sites, even though it shares the parish’s address.
The archdiocese’s official heritage page for Heuksan Catholic Church provides separate virtual-tour links for the exhibition hall and history hall. The facility helps visitors understand the development of island mission communities, the construction of Heuksan Church in the 1950s, and the parish’s postwar work in education, relief, and community support.
It is therefore not a separate parish or church, but an exhibition and memorial facility interpreting the history of Heuksan Catholic Church, a National Registered Cultural Heritage property, and the wider Catholic mission history of the islands.
