The Korean Legion of Mary Memorial Hall is a commemorative, educational, and retreat facility of the Archdiocese of Gwangju within the Catholic Mokpo Shrine complex at 35 Nosong-gil, Mokpo. It commemorates the beginning of the Legion of Mary in Korea on May 31, 1953, centered on Sanjeong-dong Parish.
According to the official Catholic Mokpo Shrine account, two praesidia were formed at Sanjeong-dong Parish and one at Gyeong-dong Parish. The Archdiocese of Gwangju celebrated the blessing of the memorial hall on September 30, 2017.
Today the building serves not only as a memorial space but also as a center for education and retreats, with accommodations, an auditorium, seminar rooms, a chapel, and dining facilities. It connects the memory of the Korean Legion of Mary’s beginnings with ongoing lay formation and spiritual renewal.
