About this place
Hakdari Catholic Church is a parish church of the Archdiocese of Gwangju at 58 Baekhak-gil, Hakgyo-myeon, Hampyeong County, within the Naju-Hampyeong district. The archdiocese records the parish as established on January 30, 1996, with St. Agnes Kim Hyo-ju as its patron.
An article published by the archdiocese notes that the Hakdari community had previously been a mission station belonging to Hampyeong Parish before being elevated to parish status. It has continued a long relationship of fellowship with the Hampyeong and Hampyeong Hasang communities.
Hakdari Catholic Church is therefore a parish under the patronage of the Korean martyr St. Agnes Kim Hyo-ju, distinguished by the history of a local mission community growing into an independent parish.
