About this place
Haenam Catholic Church is a parish church of the Archdiocese of Gwangju at 208 Jungang 1-ro, Haenam-eup, Haenam County, within the Southwestern district. Both the archdiocese and the Korean Catholic Encyclopedia record the parish as established on April 1, 1954, with Our Lady of Perpetual Help as its patron.
Since the 1950s, it has served as a pastoral base for Catholic life in the Haenam area, linking the parish community with mission stations and providing Mass, the sacraments, catechesis, and community life.
Haenam Catholic Church is therefore a long-established local parish under the patronage of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, with pastoral continuity since 1954 forming the core meaning of the place.
