Geumdang Mission Station is a Catholic mission community in the island area of Geumdang-myeon, Wando County, in the south-central area of the Archdiocese of Gwangju, and belongs to Nokdong Parish. The archdiocese's official record gives September 5, 1988 as its establishment date and confirms the same address as the package.

According to the Korean Catholic Encyclopedia's history of Nokdong Parish, the Geumdang community became an established mission in the late 1980s, later obtained its own mission building, and that building was dedicated in 1991. The Archdiocese of Gwangju records September 5, 1988 as the establishment date of Geumdang Mission Station. The Korean Catholic Encyclopedia's history of Nokdong Parish states that construction of a mission building began in Chauri, Geumdang-myeon, in October 1989 and that on October 28, 1991 a 70-pyeong building containing a chapel and convent was dedicated.

The Archdiocese of Gwangju continues to list Geumdang under Nokdong Parish, confirming the continuity of the mission community within the pastoral care of the same mother parish.
