About this place
Daeseong-dong Catholic Church is a parish church of the Archdiocese of Gwangju in Sanjeong-dong, Mokpo, within the Mokpo-Sinan district. The archdiocese records October 25, 1971 as the parish establishment date and names St. Peter as its patron. It remains a local center for Mass, the sacraments, catechesis, and parish community life.
Established as an independent parish in the early 1970s, Daeseong-dong can be understood within the broader growth of Catholic communities across different neighborhoods of Mokpo. The parish has continued to care for the ordinary religious life of local Catholics and to serve as a pastoral point linking the community with the archdiocese.
