About this place
Daegeon Center is a retreat and prayer house of the Archdiocese of Gwangju located in Byeolmyeo Village, Damyang-eup, Damyang County. The Catholic Church Directory in Korea confirms the same address as the package and identifies the Brothers Hospitallers of Saint John of God as the religious institute responsible for the facility. It is therefore best understood not as a parish church governing a local territory, but as a Catholic facility dedicated to prayer and retreat.
A retreat house is a place set apart from ordinary routines so that individuals and groups can focus on prayer, reflection, and the life of faith. Daegeon Center is officially classified in this way, and the responsibility entrusted to a religious institute is an important part of its identity.
The key facts currently supported by the official directory are its status as a retreat and prayer house of the Archdiocese of Gwangju and the religious institute responsible for it. No establishment date or separate historical event has been added because reliable official documentation for such details was not sufficiently confirmed.
