Dachon Mission Station is an island Catholic mission community on Damuldo in Heuksan-myeon, Sinan County, and belongs to Heuksan Parish in the Archdiocese of Gwangju. The archdiocese records its establishment on October 1, 1963, and identifies Damuldo as its pastoral area.
The mission station provides a local place where Catholics on an island separated from the parish center by sea can gather for prayer and continue communal faith life. Although smaller than an independent parish, a mission station is especially important in geographically dispersed island regions as a point of connection with the pastoral and liturgical life of the mother parish.
