About this place
The Daejeon branch of the Caritas Sisters of Jesus is a women’s religious community in Doryong-dong, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon. The Guide to the Catholic Church in Korea lists it as “Gwangju Province: Daejeon Branch.” Thus, although it is located within the territory of the Diocese of Daejeon, its precise identity within the congregation is that of a branch belonging to the Gwangju Province.
The Caritas Sisters of Jesus state that encounter with Jesus Christ in the Eucharist is the driving force of their activity, that they serve Christ present in the poor, and that they seek to be a sign of communion and reconciliation. The Daejeon branch is a place where this spirituality and community life are lived locally, a space of consecrated life distinct from a parish church.
