About this place
Songchon-dong Catholic Church is the church of Songchon-dong Parish in the Eastern Daejeon District of the Diocese of Daejeon. The parish is currently listed in both the Directory of the Catholic Church in Korea and the diocesan parish list. It serves as a pastoral center for Catholics in and around Songchon-dong, Daedeok-gu, where the community gathers for Mass, the sacraments, and parish life. Its patron saint is Saint Luke Hwang Seok-du, one of the Korean Martyrs.
Located within the urban communities of eastern Daejeon, Songchon-dong Parish is more than a building where liturgies are celebrated. A parish is the basic local community in which Catholics share the Church's liturgy, formation, fellowship, and service, and the church building is the center of that common life.
