About this place
The Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Hearts community in Yesan is listed in the Catholic Church Directory in Korea as a “contemplative community” belonging to the Diocese of Daejeon. Its essential character is therefore not that of an institution centered on external activities, but of a religious community in which sisters dedicate themselves to God through prayer and contemplative life.
The Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Hearts have emphasized a spirituality centered on Christ and shaped by the maternal life of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the evangelical poverty exemplified by St. Francis. The Yesan community can be understood as a place where this spirituality is lived in a contemplative form. Public sources do not provide enough reliable information about detailed schedules or visitor programs, so anyone wishing to visit should first consult official guidance and respect the character of a contemplative religious community.
