Sisters of Charity of Seton

About this place

Seton House of Spirituality in Sangwol-myeon, Nonsan, is a retreat and prayer center within the Diocese of Daejeon operated by the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill. The Catholic Directory of Korea lists the site as “Seton House of Spirituality” and identifies the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill as the religious institute responsible for it. The congregation’s own materials likewise present the Nonsan facility at the same address as a distinct center for its spiritual apostolate. The package entry titled “Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill” is therefore best understood not as a generic reference to the congregation, but as the place entry for this Nonsan spirituality center.

Programs offered here include introductory and advanced centering-prayer retreats, retreats for families and married couples, Life and Love retreats for young people, lectio divina retreats, art-therapy retreats, and individual silent retreats. Across these different forms, the common purpose is to help participants step away from daily routines for prayer and reflection on their lives. It is a place where the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill carry out a spiritual apostolate that supports prayer, inner reflection, and the restoration of relationships. Its essential character is therefore that of a retreat and prayer center, distinct from a parish church.
