Franciscan Missionary Sisters

About this place

This place is the Daejeon Wolpyeong-dong community of the Franciscan Missionary Brothers of Service. The Directory of the Catholic Church in Korea lists it as an official local community and shows that several functions supporting the congregation as a whole are located there, including religious-institute administration and finance, benefactor relations, and vocation-related work. Individual assignments may change, but this pattern of responsibilities indicates that Wolpyeong-dong is more than a residence: it is a practical base linking the congregation’s administration, support network, and vocation ministry.

The Franciscan Missionary Brothers of Service are a men’s religious community that takes the human love and spirit of service of St. Francis as an important guide for proclaiming the Gospel and serving others. Rooted in prayer and common life, the Wolpyeong-dong community helps connect and support the congregation’s various apostolates. The key to understanding this place, therefore, is that it is not a parish church but a religious community that both houses members and provides organized support for the wider missionary and service work of the congregation.
