About this place
Naedong Catholic Church is the parish church of Naedong Parish in the Western Daejeon District of the Diocese of Daejeon, located in Naedong, Seo-gu, Daejeon. The official Korean Catholic directory records February 2, 1998 as the date of establishment and lists “The Peace of Christ” as the parish patronal designation. Today the church is the center where Catholics from Naedong and the surrounding area celebrate Mass and the sacraments, receive catechesis, and participate in parish community life.
Naedong's present identity is connected with its character as a relatively recently established urban parish. It provides local Catholics with a regular place for liturgy and faith life and serves as a parish community within the Western Daejeon District of the diocese. Because the currently available official material does not establish with sufficient certainty which mother parish it was separated from or the detailed circumstances of its creation, this introduction focuses on the verified diocesan affiliation, parish status, patronal designation, and present role.
