About this place
Munchang-dong Catholic Church is a parish in the Daejeon Central district of the Catholic Diocese of Daejeon, serving the liturgical, sacramental, catechetical, and community life of Catholics around Munchang-dong and Busa-dong in Jung-gu. Its patron is Our Lady of Fatima. As one of Daejeon’s long-established urban parishes, it belongs to a line of local communities that developed through division from the cathedral parish of Daeheung-dong.
Today Munchang-dong continues its liturgical and pastoral life as an independent parish while carrying the memory of decades of demographic change and adjustment of parish boundaries in the old city center. Its significance lies less in the building alone than in its role as one of the local centers through which the Church in Daejeon created more accessible pastoral communities as the city expanded.
