About this place
The Daejeon community of the Sisters of the Annunciation of the Divine Word is a women’s religious community located within the Catholic Diocese of Daejeon and is listed by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Korea as a branch in Ssangyong-dong, Cheonan. It is best understood not as an independent parish or ordinary parish church, but as a local religious house where sisters live their vocation through common life and prayer.
The Sisters of the Annunciation of the Divine Word have placed at the center of their spirituality the reception of God’s word in daily life and the witness of that word through life. The community began with a contemplative emphasis on prayer and work and later broadened its service into social welfare and other apostolates in response to the needs of the Church. The Daejeon branch belongs to this wider congregation and serves as a local community in which the sisters carry out entrusted missions within the diocese on the foundation of religious prayer and common life.
