About this place
The site is the Nonsan community of the Carmelite Missionaries. The directory of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Korea registers it within the Diocese of Daejeon as “Carmelite Missionaries – Nonsan Community” and gives the institute’s official English name as Carmelite Missionaries (C.M.). It is therefore not an ordinary parish church but a local house in which women religious live a common life of consecration.
The Carmelite Missionaries inherit the spirituality of Blessed Francisco Palau and emphasize the unity of contemplation and apostolic service in love for the Church. The congregation’s own materials describe this charism as being expressed through prayer, sacrifice, and service to the Church and neighbor. Because the Nonsan community belongs to this religious institute, the site is best understood not primarily as a “church building” but as a local religious community where common life and apostolic service are carried out.
