About this place
Galsan Mission Station in Galsan-myeon, Hongseong-gun, belongs to Hongseong Parish in the Catholic Diocese of Daejeon. The Directory of the Catholic Church in Korea lists this place as “Galsan Mission Station” and explicitly identifies Hongseong as its parent parish. It should therefore be understood not as an independent parish but as a local Catholic site within the pastoral jurisdiction of Hongseong Parish.
A mission station is a local Catholic community and place of prayer serving believers who live at some distance from the parish church. For this particular Galsan Mission Station, however, publicly available official sources do not provide enough reliable information to establish its present schedule of liturgical use or a detailed history of its formation. The most accurate way for a visitor to understand the site is therefore by its verified current identity as a mission station in Galsan-myeon belonging to Hongseong Parish.
