About this place
Beopdong Youth Culture Center is not an ordinary Catholic parish church but a public youth facility serving the Daedeok-gu community. According to materials from the Catholic Diocese of Daejeon, the center has been operated under contract by the Daecheol Youth Foundation, an organization connected with the diocesan youth ministry, and its work includes developing youth activity programs, supporting youth self-governing bodies, and running public youth projects.
Daedeok-gu public documents likewise identify the center as a youth training facility intended to support healthy growth and participation. Its main functions include after-school support, career and aptitude development, self-governance, and cultural activities, so its purpose differs from that of a parish whose primary life centers on Mass and the sacraments.
Its Catholic connection lies not in being a parish church but in the fact that a foundation linked to diocesan youth ministry carries out a public service for local young people. Visitors should therefore understand the center as a community youth facility operated by a Catholic-affiliated organization.
