About this place
The community of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Assisi in Gyeryong is listed in the Catholic Directory in Korea as the congregation's Daejeon branch, a women's institute of consecrated life associated with the Diocese of Daejeon. The directory gives the official English name as Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Assisi, abbreviated S.F.M.A., confirming that the place in this package is the congregation's Daejeon branch.
Its essential character is that of a local religious community where members of the congregation live in community, rather than that of a territorial parish church. The general history of the congregation or the apostolates of other houses should therefore not automatically be attributed to this particular community. Within the scope of the available official directory, its clearest verified identity is the Daejeon branch of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Assisi located within the Diocese of Daejeon.
