Anmyeondo Parish began as a new parish separated from Taean Parish in 2001. The Diocese of Daejeon's fiftieth-anniversary history of Taean Parish records that Anmyeondo was separated in 2001, while the Catholic Directory in Korea gives February 8, 2001, as the establishment date of Anmyeondo Parish. This shows the process by which an independent parish center was created on Anmyeondo so that Catholics in the Seosan-Taean coastal area could receive pastoral care closer to home.

The new community did not begin with an extensive complex of facilities. An official diocesan notice for its 2012 Lenten sharing campaign stated that, although Anmyeondo Parish had been newly established in early 2001, it was still centered on a single building that combined the church and rectory and had not yet been able to provide sufficient auxiliary buildings. Even more than a decade after the parish was established, additional space to support education, fellowship, and other aspects of community life remained a practical need.

The fact that the diocese presented this situation as one calling for solidarity and support shows that establishing a new parish in the area involved more than constructing a single church building. The official sources obtained for this review do not provide a continuous record of later extensions or completed facilities, so no unverified building chronology has been added. The current Catholic Directory continues to list Anmyeondo as a parish of the Seosan district in the Diocese of Daejeon, confirming the continuity of the community that began with the 2001 separation.
