Suseong Catholic Church is a parish of the Archdiocese of Daegu, with St. Gabriel the Archangel as its patron. History & origins
According to the official parish directory of the Archdiocese of Daegu, Suseong Parish was established on April 16, 1964. It began as an independent parish under the patronage of St. Gabriel the Archangel and continued its history alongside the development of the Suseong area.
The parish marked its fiftieth anniversary in 2014. The Archdiocese of Daegu records that on September 28 of that year, Archbishop Thaddeus Cho Hwan-kil presided at a fiftieth-anniversary Mass and Confirmation, and the official archdiocesan weekly also reported the anniversary liturgy. This provides a clear milestone showing that the community founded in the 1960s continued beyond its first half-century into the present.
