About this place
Songgye Mission Station is a Catholic mission station belonging to Gacheon Parish in the Archdiocese of Daegu, located in Songgye-ri, Suryun-myeon, Seongju-gun. The official archdiocesan page for Gacheon Parish lists Songgye, Suryun, and Chaenggi as its mission stations, confirming that Songgye is not an independent parish but a local Catholic community under the pastoral care of Gacheon Parish.
In a rural area, a mission station serves as a local point where Catholics living at some distance from the parish church can maintain community life and remain connected with their parish. Songgye should therefore be understood primarily as a local community of Gacheon Parish, not as a separate parish church or independent jurisdiction.
