The archdiocesan centenary record for Namsan Parish lists Sohwa among the parishes later separated from Namsan, confirming that it became an independent parish as the Catholic community in the Daemyeong-dong area grew and parish boundaries were reorganized.
In 2012, when the parish marked its fortieth anniversary, the official Daegu weekly bulletin recorded a fortieth-anniversary celebration and Confirmation scheduled at Sohwa Catholic Church on October 7. This provides an official milestone showing the parish continuing as an independent community across generations.
