Records confirm that the Muhak Training Center in Seongju opened in 2006. The diocesan magazine Light described a three-story facility with lodging, a dining hall, and an assembly hall where Mass could be celebrated. It was used as a space for retreats and training for young people and families.

On May 28, 2014, a blessing of Muhak Training Center, operated by the Daegu Catholic Youth Foundation, was celebrated by Archbishop Thaddeus Cho Hwan-kil. A 2025 archdiocesan account summarizes that the center had been under the Youth Foundation since 2014 and had served as a place for the faith formation of youth and young adults.

Because of aging facilities, the foundation's board decided in 2021 that the old structure should be demolished, and reconstruction began in February 2023. The new complex, with a chapel, hall, seminar rooms, and lodging and dining spaces, was reopened and blessed on June 21, 2025. The reconstruction did more than restore the old facility: it renewed the center so that it could accommodate both diocesan youth programs and retreats and formation for the wider diocesan community.
