Jillyang Parish was established on September 4, 1997, according to the official records of the Archdiocese of Daegu. This gave Catholics in the Jillyang area of Gyeongsan a basis for continuing Mass, the sacraments, and faith formation within an independent parish community.
On September 17, 2017, a Mass of thanksgiving for the 20th anniversary of the parish was celebrated together with Confirmation. On September 4, 2022, a Mass of thanksgiving marked the 25th anniversary, and 46 Catholics received Confirmation during the celebration.
The fact that liturgies for both the 20th and 25th anniversaries are recorded by the archdiocese shows how Jillyang Parish has periodically looked back on its communal history since its establishment and renewed that history through its sacramental life.
