Gosan Catholic Church is a parish of the Archdiocese of Daegu serving Catholics in the Siji area of Suseong-gu, Daegu, as a place for Mass, the sacraments, catechesis, and parish community life. History & origins
According to official records of the Archdiocese of Daegu, Gosan Parish was established on November 6, 1987. This date marks the formal beginning of an independent parish community in the Siji area and provided the foundation for local Catholics to continue liturgical and pastoral life centered on Gosan Church.
In November 2017, thirty years after the parish was established, Archbishop Thaddeus Cho Hwan-kil celebrated a Mass of thanksgiving for the 30th anniversary at Gosan and conferred Confirmation. The fact that the archdiocese commemorated the anniversary in an official liturgy confirms that the community had continued and developed for more than a generation since its establishment in 1987.
