About this place
The Carmelite monastery in Seongju is listed in the Catholic Church directory of Korea as a male community of the Order of Discalced Carmelites (O.C.D.) belonging to the Archdiocese of Daegu. Located in Byeokjin-myeon, Seongju-gun, it is not a territorial parish church but a monastery where religious live a common life of prayer, with contemplative and consecrated life in the Carmelite tradition at its center.
This distinction is essential for understanding the place: it is a monastery of a consecrated-life community rather than a parish responsible for the pastoral care of a local territory. The name and address in the package match the entry for the Carmelite Seongju Monastery in the Korean Catholic directory.
