About this place
Daehyeon Catholic Church is a parish of the Archdiocese of Daegu serving the urban community around Daehyeon-dong in northern Daegu, with parish life centered on Mass and the sacraments. Its patron is Saint Peter the Apostle. Under the patronage of the apostle associated with the faith of the early Church, local Catholics continue a regular life of liturgy, catechesis, fellowship, and service.

Daehyeon Parish was established on July 5, 1977, the date recorded in the official parish directory of the Archdiocese of Daegu. From that point it continued as an independent parish jurisdiction serving the Daehyeon-dong area. Available official sources do not provide sufficient detail about an earlier stage of the community or a complete chronology of church construction, so those matters are not stated as established facts here.
The parish marked the 40th anniversary of its establishment in 2017. Daegu Catholic Peace Broadcasting reported that in October of that year Daehyeon held a parish-day celebration for the anniversary. The establishment in 1977 and the 40th-anniversary celebration in 2017 provide two clear points showing the long continuity of parish life in the same urban area despite changes in the surrounding city.
