About this place
Beommul Parish belongs to the Archdiocese of Daegu and serves the Catholic community in and around Beommul-dong in Suseong-gu, Daegu. Its patronal mystery is the Nativity of Jesus, and the parish is the local center where Catholics continue their life of faith through Mass, the sacraments, catechesis, and communal activities.
Within the Beommul neighborhood, the parish serves as a faith community linking families and generations. History & origins
Beommul Parish was established on September 6, 2002. It took shape as an independent parish during a period of residential expansion in Suseong-gu, Daegu, and began its communal life under the patronal mystery of the Nativity of Jesus.
On September 25, 2022, Archbishop Thaddeus Cho Hwan-kil celebrated a Mass of thanksgiving for the twentieth anniversary of the parish. After the Mass, the parishioners offered 1,049,000 decades of the Rosary as a spiritual gift prepared for the anniversary. The record shows that the commemoration was shaped not only by public celebration but by a sustained practice of prayer.
Having passed its twentieth anniversary, Beommul Parish has become an established local parish that continues the area's liturgical life and faith formation. The founding date and anniversary celebration provide clear markers of how the community has built its shared memory across generations.
