The exact founding year of Baeksan Mission Station is not stated in the currently available archdiocesan sources, but a 2023 Farmers' Sunday homily by Archbishop Thaddeus Cho Hwan-kil preserves important information about its building and pastoral continuity. The archbishop said that the present mission-station building was provided through a donation by the mother of Fathers Lee Chan-hyeon and Lee Jong-hyeon and that it had been repaired several times over the years.
Liturgical life at the mission station was sustained through the service of several priests. The homily recalls that Monsignor Lee Jong-heung, after retirement, came for Sunday Mass for a number of years, followed by Father Kang Taek-gyu for several years, with Sunday Mass continuing afterward. This reflects the way a rural mission station without a resident priest was maintained through the cooperation of local Catholics and clergy.
On July 16, 2023, Archbishop Cho visited Baeksan for the 28th Farmers' Sunday, blessed a local farm, and celebrated Mass at the mission station. He noted that among the remaining mission stations operating in Goryeong County, Baeksan showed a particularly active communal life. The visit demonstrates that Baeksan is not merely a historical remnant but a living rural Catholic community that continues liturgy and communion today.
