About this place
Masan-dong Parish is a Catholic parish in the Gimpo district of the Diocese of Incheon. Within the residential area that grew with the development of the Gimpo Hangang New Town, it serves as a local center where Catholics participate in Mass and the sacraments, receive catechesis, and sustain parish community life. The official directory of the Catholic Church in Korea registers Masan-dong as an independent parish and currently lists no mission station under it.
The parish is best understood by distinguishing its present identity as a new-town parish from the older Catholic traces associated with the Masan area of eastern Gimpo. The precise canonical and communal continuity between the present parish and the former Masan-ri mission station still requires further verification. This introduction therefore focuses on its current identity within the Diocese of Incheon and its role in supporting the liturgical and faith life of local Catholics.
