About this place
La Verna House of Prayer is a retreat and prayer house registered with the Diocese of Chuncheon and located in Yongpyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang County. Both the Diocese of Chuncheon and the Korean Catholic Directory identify it as a retreat facility under the same name, and the Missionary Franciscan Sisters of Assisi are listed as the religious institute responsible for it. It differs from an ordinary parish church in that it is a religious-community-linked space intended for prayer and retreat rather than a parish center.
Official public information presents its essential character simply as a “retreat and prayer house.” Visitors should therefore understand it not as a place centered on regular parish ministry but as a space for spiritual retreat whose schedules and use are managed separately. Detailed programs and conditions of use are not sufficiently described in the available public sources, so it is prudent to check the current guidance before visiting.
