About this place
The Chuncheon community of the Olivetan Benedictine Sisters is listed in the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Korea directory as the “Seoul District: Chuncheon Community,” located at the same site as Yangyang Parish. Yangyang Parish also identifies the Olivetan Benedictine Sisters as the religious community serving the parish, confirming that this is a women’s religious community living and serving within the parish setting.
The Olivetan tradition follows the Rule of Saint Benedict and belongs to the Benedictine spiritual tradition centered on prayer and common life. The Olivetan Benedictine Sisters in Korea are part of this tradition. The Yangyang community is therefore best understood not as an independent parish, but as a religious community that shares in the Church’s mission within Yangyang Parish through the prayer and communal life proper to its vocation.
For a place directory, it is important to understand this location not as a separate parish church but as a religious community situated within Yangyang Parish. Both the national Catholic directory and parish information confirm the sisters’ presence at the same site. Specific current assignments of the sisters or the extent to which the convent is open to visitors should not be assumed without separate official guidance.
