About this place
Manresa House of Spirituality is a Catholic retreat facility in Seoseok-myeon, Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon State. The Diocese of Chuncheon lists it among its institutions as “Manresa House of Spirituality (Jesuits).” The Catholic Church directory in Korea likewise classifies it as a retreat and prayer house belonging to the Diocese of Chuncheon and identifies the Society of Jesus as the religious order responsible for it. Its character is therefore that of a Jesuit-run place for retreats and spiritual life rather than a parish church.
The diocesan listing gives its field of activity simply as “retreats,” and the Church directory records several Jesuit priests as assigned to the house. These details indicate that its principal role is to provide a setting where people can step away from ordinary routines and devote themselves to prayer and reflection, rather than to serve as the center of regular parish ministry. The clearest point supported by the public sources is its present identity as a retreat house within the Diocese of Chuncheon under Jesuit responsibility.
