About this place
The Hongcheon community of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer is a male religious community located within the Diocese of Chuncheon. The Catholic Directory of Korea lists this place as the Hongcheon community of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, C.Ss.R. The Redemptorists are a missionary congregation founded by St. Alphonsus Maria de Liguori, and they place at the heart of their identity the proclamation of the Gospel to the poor and the most abandoned, especially those who might otherwise remain far from pastoral care.
This place is therefore best understood not as an ordinary parish church, but as a local religious community where Redemptorist priests and brothers live together and embody the missionary spirituality of their congregation. Public sources do not provide enough reliable detail about the precise apostolates or regular visitor programs of the Hongcheon community, so it would be unsafe to describe it specifically as a parish or retreat house. Its present identity as a Redemptorist religious community is the clearest verified description.
